Whether it’s with a fresh spray tan or a sparkling ensemble, summer is all about making yourself glow. What’s hot right now? Shimmering in sequins! Celebrities are embracing these light-reflecting embellishments, especially on their bottoms – shorts and skirts that is (ahem, mind out of the gutter!). And yes, you can even wear sequined bottoms for day.

Tennis pro, Maria Sharapova, recently dazzled in sleek, bronze sequined 3.1 Philip Lim shorts, while Grammy-winner Carrie Underwood rocked a pair of casual, metallic-sequined jean cut-offs while performing at the CMA Music Festival. Other celebs such as Lea Michele, Chrissy Teigen, Rita Ora, Lauren Pope, and Emily Maynard recently went for more feminine looks by donning sequined skirts. And, as you can see from the pics below, sequins don’t necessarily need to be worn in uniform tones, like in Lea Michele’s white sequin two-piece case. Multicolored sequins (see Rita Ora in Roberto Cavalli Spring/Summer ’12) look equally as chic – possibly even a bit more fun!?!
