On the corner of 30th Ave/Adams Ave is a trendy bar for the ultimate best happy hour and mixology in San Diego. Polite Provisions, the bar, and Soda & Swine, the meatball shop, have the best of both worlds. One serves food and one serves alcohol, so it is fun to go into Soda & Swine to order picnic style and then wait for your food in the West Village feeling bar, while hopefully finding a seat next to the window. This corner in North Park or Normal Heights has precision mixed drinks and a meatball shop for a weekday happy hour or a destination weekend scene.
The cocktails at Polite Provisions are mixed up by Erick Castro, nationwide mixologist from San Francisco and let me tell you they are potent for the best happy hour, yet the flavors of the fresh ingredients and homemade sodas come through strong. The bar is designed to be a modernized drug store reminiscent of when pharmacies used to mix up liquor for medicinal cures.
Gretchen and I enjoy a Casual Encounter and a Honey Stone Julep cocktail and some build your own sliders for the best happy hour. Soda & Swine has beef, chicken, pork, and quinoa sliders.
